Papel & Caneta

In 2014, Andre Chaves created Papel & Caneta (Paper & Pen in Portuguese) at 25 years old with the mission of connecting leading ad industry creatives with activists to solve some of society's toughest problems. Already featured in platforms such as AdAge, The New York Times, Cannes Lions, HuffPost, ELLE, Vogue Japan, PAPER Magazine and Campaign US, for two consecutive years Papel & Caneta was the only collective mentioned in Fast Company's list of 'Ideas That Are Changing The World' together with brands and agencies like HP, Nike, R/GA, Microsoft, and Unicef. Since 2019, André has been one of the ambassadors for Inkwell Beach Cannes, Cannes Lions' Diversity and Inclusion week-long activation at Cannes Lions.

Based in Brazil, he runs workshops in universities and creative schools like Miami Ad School with the goal of mentoring young people who are getting into the industry, but want to make a difference through independent projects. Every year, he launches a list highlighting young Brazilian talent who are changing the ad industry on their own. This year, Andre wrote a piece for Adweek featuring 10 projects that made the ad industry better in 2020.
