Description
[Garbage Trucks, Fatal To Both Humans And The Environment]
97% of the garbage truck is the internal combustion engine car. The annual micro-dust generated by one garbage truck is 85.98kg, which is 40 times more than the average 2.12kg of general cars. In addition, the amount of carbon emission accounts for 20% of the total carbon emission in the transportation sector.
What’s worse is that garbage trucks are fatal to sanitation workers’ health. The gas exhaustion, aircraft-level noise, and engine heat reaching 40°C all threaten the health of sanitation workers. In particular, the lung function for sanitation workers, who are constantly exposed to gas emissions at work, is worse than that of mining workers, leading to a high risk of lung cancer. Sanitation workers are exposed to a variety of pollutants while collecting garbage. About 260,000 bacteria are found on their bodies after work. The problem is the harsh work environment where they can’t even wash their hands. As a result, sanitation workers continue to suffer from skin diseases. As a response, Hyundai Motor Group, the No.1 global hydrogen car market shareholder, decided to solve garbage trucks’ chronic problem with sustainable hydrogen energy.
[Sustainable Garbage Trucks For All Of Us]
The Hydrogen Garbage Truck, manufactured for both sanitation workers and the environment, is zero-emission with minimal noise and heat emission, dramatically improving the work environment for sanitation workers. In particular, the portable sink using water, the only by-product of hydrogen cars, had a great impact on sanitation workers’ health. This drawer-type portable sink allows sanitation workers to wash their hands anytime they want, reducing the risk of infection by 90%.
Hydrogen Garbage Truck not only emits nothing other than water but also purifies air during its operation. Hydrogen Garbage Trucks are improving the atmospheric environment by purifying the air that 172 adults can inhale while driving at 80km for an hour, and are further taking the lead in fighting against the climate crisis.
