Description

FEW Magazine is a publication with a focus on minorities. FEW seeks to initiate a discussion between the majority population and different minorities by introducing new perspectives to complement the often highly schematic and discriminatory imagery of the mainstream media.

The team wishes to dispel worn-out ideas about minority peoples and promote a culture of acceptance. One of FEW’s particular objectives is to bring out the frequently overlooked warmth, beauty, and humor of minority peoples. Romani people, one of the most discriminated-against people in Finland, are the theme of the first issue.

The general debate about discrimination and equality is often very serious and “difficult,” which can alienate many from an important topic. We believe that presenting things aesthetically and positively helps to receive information: it is easier for people to grasp the subject.
