About the Work

President Obama might be gone from the White House, but his legacy of how the government embraces technology lives on through America’s Greatest startup – The United States Digital Service. The USDS is a team of technologists recruited by the White House to improve country’s digital public-facing services – from modernizing our immigration system to making Veterans benefits more accessible online. The film narrated by Steve Jobs celebrates what’s possible when tech devotes itself to aiding those who need it most, and to send the message: It’s time to build a tradition of public service in the tech industry. The graphic animation reflects the USDS's digital ethos and illustrates how relevant Jobs’ words are +20 years after his interview. It was posted online and relayed by social media and PR the day Mickey Dickerson (USDS administrator) sent his farewell letter before his replacement was announced on Jan 17th.
