“No Comply” delves into the story of a ‘90s skateboard trick that found new life, thanks to a crew of unique individuals who inspired each other to share new variations on Instagram, highlighting pro skaters such as Marbie Miller, Kane Caples, David Gonzales and Richie Jackson and their pursuit to evolve the trick again and again.
Edited by veteran Rick Orrick, the film is an entrancing two-minute journey of skateboard trickery. To highlight No Comply’s linear progression, Orrick created a mesmerizing whirl of seamless match-cuts that show the same trick again and again, but showcased through a variety of different techniques and interfaces.
