About the Work
The importance of this project was to show that Africa has the necessary resources to solve its problems alone, without outside help. The Western vision of humanitarian aid excludes a large part of the population which, because of its lack of understanding of the local populations, their culture or their history, sometimes has counterproductive repercussions. The ALIMA Association, with 98% of its local caregivers, trains and uses the strength of Africa to develop a sustainable and local medicine in order to no longer be dependent on Western aid that too often presents Africa as a problem and not as a solution. We worked with a Senegalese artist to create a film consistent with the purpose of the association and the authenticity of the story told.
