About the Work
ALDI is known for good quality at reasonable prices. But the brand wants to emotionalise more and show that it stands by families and understands their worries and needs. The emotional Christmas film should depict exactly that and tell a more realistic Christmas.
Idea
Christmas is a celebration to look forward to - even more so when the whole year has been difficult. The campaign "Finally Christmas again. With everything that goes with it" was therefore supplemented by a realistic and emotional motif: quarrels. Because in addition to the stresses and strains at work and in the family, the social divide continues to grow. Moreover, a good meal is always a good way to reconcile, which also credibly integrates ALDI's core competence.
The film touches on the story of a single father and his teenage son who get into a fight over Christmas. The father's job as a tram driver is not innocent in this. But reaching out to each other again after a conflict is not only the message for the two, but for all of us. With over 13 million views on YouTube alone and hundreds of heartwarming and positive comments, ALDI moved many people with it.
