About the Work
During the last year and up to the present day, we have all witnessed massive forest fires raging worldwide, even leaving clouds of smoke that could be seen from space. But this is not all, because while we see how climate change and its consequences are becoming bigger and more significant globally, we also see how deforestation of native forests and logging are increasing every year. So, seeing this unfortunate scenario and the behavior or reaction of the whole world, we realized that people seem not to want to listen to these problems, turning a deaf ear and doing nothing about it. But when we saw that a small bird in Australia that is known to learn and imitate the sounds around it learned to imitate the sounds of fire sirens, we realized that this was the sound of nature asking us for help, because later we discovered that there was another bird also from Australia that imitated the sound of chainsaws. This inspired us to create the first radio campaign made with actual recordings of these birds, imitating these sounds while their forests were being destroyed. Again, making a call to raise awareness about the impact and severity of deforestation and forest fires, but this time, the call would be made by the animals, and we would all listen to them.
