In one of the wildest real time stunts to ever play out on Twitch, Apple TV+ brought the mystery and horror of a real alien Invasion to some of the biggest streamers on the platform.
Based upon moments from Apple TV+’s new sci-fi epic Invasion, viewers all across Twitch watched in shock as some of their favorite streamers experience amazingly realistic nosebleeds and distorted broadcast signals during their livestreams. Just like in the show, where the alien invasion is experienced by humans all over the world where they encounter the same scary nosebleeds and distorted broadcast signals.
As shocked viewers started to comment on the events, some of the streams began to organically trend and the whole experience got even weirder as eerie glitches started to kick in, before the streams shut down completely. The chats went totally wild as fans and viewers were left in the dark, starting thousands of conversations speculating about what they just witnessed and what happened to the streamers, who remained off the grid for the rest of the day.
The next day, Apple TV+ and Invasion took over the Twitch homepage with a video revealing what happened to the streamers and how the events were connected to the new show, Invasion. Additionally, the streamers went online again to explain how they pulled off the prank as well as telling people to check out Invasion on Apple TV+. Amazingly, the conversation had lasting impact as discussions between chat and the streamers popped up for days and even weeks after the event.
