About the Work
The inspiration comes from the myth that Nikasi is one of the oldest and most widespread of the Sumerian deities, which was used as a symbol of beer and the patron of its brewing industry from the Early Dynastic Period (2900-2350 BC). In the hymns of the time, she was celebrated as the "Satisfier of Desires". The Ninkasi Hymn is one of only two Sumerian toasts in existence today.
In the fierce competition of the brewery market, the two-dimension effort put into labels is no longer functioning as well as before. We have no intention to make a better label or a more delicate illustration. What we are trying to achieve is a three-dimension change so as to resist homogenization in the beer market. The goal of the project is to build up a fresh new brand of high-end white beer. On the neck, the geometric figure of the Sumerian goddess of the brewery is embossed. Under the neck, a delicate label is made to be the gown of the goddess. On any social occasion, Nikasi will be the special preferable choice of beer, making the consumers proud of holding it in hand.
