Nowadays, smartphones are essential tools for migrants. They use them daily to communicate with their families in their country of origin. This operation has been a success as it has created a simple service that responds to a need and bypasses language barriers.
We’ve created a relevant number 505 MIGRANTS. Because 505=SOS.
Then developed a language, based on migrants’ essential needs and associated emojis
We have referenced all the services likely to meet their needs in and use WhatsApp for geolocation.
The result is a WhatsApp conversation service: send an emoji expressing a need and a bot will respond with the itinerary to the nearest address.
