After several successful campaigns establishing the brand belief that B&Q, the UK's leading home improvement and DIY retailer helping customers since 1969, can help anyone Build a Life, our challenge was to continue building on this.

Although interest in DIY and Home Improvement was still rising, time pressures were returning as we entered a post-covid world. Modern consumers didn't just care about what you sold; they cared how you sold it. Convenience is key. But convenience looks different for B&Q - you can't put their products on a bike or push them through a post-box. We needed to show how B&Q made DIY and Home Improvement easy.

Convenience for B&Q isn't merely about giving their customers back spare minutes; it is about giving them the power to act when life strikes. With delivery, click&collect and over 300 stores, B&Q has you covered. Whether a surprise pregnancy is transforming your spare room or the kids that moved out are moving back in, this was Uncommon's opportunity to show how B&Q can help you react.

B&Q helps make change easier. Flip' is a powerful visualisation of this - starting with a woman discovering she is pregnant in a cluttered spare room, realising her home is about to change. She looks down at her phone and clicks to start that process in motion with B&Q through their app. The shadows from outside begin to spill through the window as we see her home begin to, literally and figuratively, flip to make way for a new addition to the family. She scales her rotating home, witnessing the transformation from all angles, landing back in a refurbished home to reveal the spare room has become a brand new nursery. It's a powerful story of change made easy, all captured in one beautiful moment.
