Everyone has a name. And for many in the AAPI community, they carry a deep history and significance. But acts of bias, mispronunciation, and misidentification can make Asian Americans feel outcasted in the US, now more than ever.
Created and produced by an all-AAPI team, "The Name'' follows a Korean-American family as they’re challenged by their own identity, eventually discovering through everyday acts of kindness and self-strength, how the simplest efforts — like learning someone's name — can help them feel like they belong.
Released for APAHM, the film earned 4+ billion impressions, sparking countless stories around Asian names and lived experiences.
