About the Work

Mobile games still don’t get the hype they deserve, even though they’re now capable of immersive visuals and deep gameplay experiences that can rival console and PC gaming. So, when Google Play partnered with Activision Blizzard King to bring one of the world’s most beloved franchises to mobile, the mission was clear: make a mobile game feel larger than life.

We created “Battle at Home Screen” — a visual spectacle that shows Diablo Immortal literally erupting onto phones. It’s a surprising thrill ride that weaves together Diablo Immortal’s hellish action and Google Play’s irreverent joy.

To bring the spot to life, we partnered with renowned world-building virtual production company, Impossible Objects. The animated mayhem was built from the ground up in Unreal Engine, employing a range of cutting-edge filmmaking techniques including producing virtual environments, 3D assets, real-time previsualization, a hybrid live-action shoot with real-time compositing, and intricate animation sequences.

The global campaign features a track from K-pop powerhouse, Aespa, who recently made their US debut at the 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

By dynamically blending brand tones and giving a mobile game the AAA treatment, this campaign took Google Play’s co-marketing efforts to the next level.
