How WWF uses virtual reality to fight real life problems
While the virtual world rapidly changes, real world environmental problems just keep piling up. That’s why WWF decided to connect the two. With our website – a metaverse platform that helps the real world.
The first chapter: Operation #OceanDetox. A WEB 3.0-based, immersive experience that allows people to experience the problem of waste in the oceans in a whole new way, to make them aware of the urgency to act. And provides the opportunity to do so. By buying individually designed trash NFTs.
The operation made international headlines, setting new impulses in the “Do we need metaverses”- discussion. Raising a lot of awareness with a reach of 120 million. And getting 1.4 tons of trash out of the oceans in the first 72 hours alone.
