About the Work

“The World Is Your Cart” is a celebration of the limitless potential we have at our fingertips. You can order anything from anywhere, including the bathtub. Our goal was to hero “the cart” and visually show its infinite possibilities. Airing immediately after Lizzo's performance at the VMAs, our shoppable film transformed her actual cart into a splashy, whimsical, can't-look-away story. As Lizzo adds each item to her cart, an extraordinary world of possibilities opens up.

Our vision was to create distinctive worlds that were expansive, colorful, rich and visceral out of a simple, everyday setting. These worlds were brought to life by Sam Brown, a director well known for his attention to detail and film craft. The meticulously designed sets included an upside-down bathroom, a Parisian street, a Takis-dust desert and an expansive neon world. From black-and-white French cinema to an otherworldly, sci-fi-inspired desert, we leaned into a range of visual aesthetics to keep the viewer fully engaged throughout the spot.

Much of the magic was captured in-camera using a range of practical effects, including thousands of raining cherries, an enormous mechanical ice cream and exploding bath bombs.
We then augmented these effects in post and dialed up the richness of the colors, accentuating the blacks and giving a cinematic finish.

The production was a complex jigsaw puzzle involving shooting all scenes with a body double for Lizzo, to be then seamlessly stitched together, including the carefully orchestrated final scene with a cast of fantastically dressed extras and an array of visually intriguing items with Lizzo at the center.

Our campaign was a massive success, driving two billion earned impressions, 130+ articles and 13+ million views on YouTube.
We saw 302% increase in brand mentions, 42% increase in app reinstalls and 46% increase in consideration.
