About the Work
It feels nearly impossible to sum up the past 50 years of Nike in a single two minute commercial. So many cultural and groundbreaking moments. Victories and inspiring losses repeated. Athletes that helped shape the future of sport. A brand that joined the conversation a long time ago but is still relevant today because of their cultural impact and their understanding of what it feels like to be an athlete.
In the end, it was all made possible by a bunch of creative minds getting together and daring to push the work in every direction to make sure we created the best version possible.
We worked closely with the creative team on sound design, sound mixing, and music editing to help our audience feel the nostalgia of the past 50 years, while bringing the right focus to each of the scenes in this fast paced, iconic edit. The dialogue, announcers, sound design, and music are all competing for attention. The heavy lift in this mix was getting all of those elements to play well together, bringing balance and clarity. We re-recorded every announcer and replaced all game sound effects without compromising the energy and emotion of these historic sport moments.
