Chet Fenster

Managing Partner & Head of Content

MEC Global

New York

Chet Fenster has led MEC Content, a division of the GroupM global media agency, to the forefront of branded content. Working across languages, genres, and platforms, he and his team guide Fortune 500 companies' entertainment strategies and production efforts.

Anchored in the fundamental belief that advertisers need to think more like programmers, Mr. Fenster has helped clients such as AT&T, Citi, Macy's, and IKEA use content, pop culture, and social media to better communicate with consumers.

Through this approach, MEC Content has developed and produced television programs for MTV, CBS, NBC, Telemundo, Univision, and A&E, ranging from reality shows to animated movies. In addition, the team has created web series, mobile content, and transmedia programming with Google, MSN, AOL and more.

Highlights include Fix This Kitchen, the A&E home renovation series sponsored by IKEA, which just wrapped its second season in the US, and has spawned a local adaptation in The Netherlands. And Yes, Virginia, the animated holiday movie which just celebrated its fourth year on CBS, complemented by a book, merchandise line, and a balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Prior to joining MEC, Mr. Fenster was a television producer and network programming executive. He was president of Kinetic Pictures for five years, a Los Angeles based production company he co-founded, and held various positions at Fuse, Disney Channel, and FOX.

Mr. Fenster holds a degree in English from Duke University and a Masters in Communication Management from the USC Annenberg School for Communication.
