Norman started his advertising career in his home base in Singapore in 1982, and went on to build regional expertise in a wide range of markets. His roles span Grey, Leo Burnett, JWT Taiwan, JWT South East Asia, Bates China and Lowe China. In Oct 2014, he took the role of North Asia Chief Creative Officer and China Chairman for JWT, based in Shanghai.

He has judged major local regional and international award shows, including D&AD in 2006, The One Show in 2008, Spikes Asia in 2011 and 2013, and served as Print/Out door Jury president for AdFest Asia 2015, Jury president for the China 4A Creative Award in both 2011 and 2013, as well as at the 2014 Taiwan 4A and 2015 Hong Kong 4A. He is also on the Advisory Committee for the annual One Show China Creative Workshop and the LongXi Awards.

Norman’s work has also been recognized at creative shows, worldwide. He led Lowe China and Buick to win “The Best of the show” in 2013 and 2014 at both the China 4A Creative award and The Great Wall Creative Awards. Under his leadership, the agency also brought home a Gold, Silver and two Bronzes Lions from Cannes in 2014 in Print, Outdoor and Film for the public service campaign “Human Traffic Signs”, created for Buick/Shanghai GM. The same Campaign also won the Grand Prix in public service at Busan AdStars International Advertising Festival; Four Golds, Four Silvers and Four Bronzes at the Spikes Asia in 2014; One Yellow Pencil, One White Pencil, One Graphite Pencil; Two Wood Pencils at D&AD 2015; Two Gold pencils and Two Merit Awards at One Show 2015.

In 2014, Norman was awarded first prize for “Top Creative Director in Greater China 2013” by prestigious Longyin Review.

Norman is also a sought-after speaker at industry events, and contributes articles regularly to the Fashion Magazine in Singapore, as well as Ad Magazine Taiwan and China.
