Laurie DeMartino Design
Laurie DeMartino Design is a Minneapolis-based creative firm that brings a human, richly detailed and artful approach to brand strategy, visual identity, packaging, corporate communications, and product design, creating impressions that are lingering and timeless, yet entirely modern.
Known for elegantly composed and sumptuously layered images, DeMartino's judicious use of classical typefaces, high level of craft, and unique command of color, gives the work a sense of refined precision; while textural materials and frequent use of letterpress add a lush, tactile quality.
Since establishing Laurie DeMartino Design in 1991, Laurie has been passionate about creating smart, out of the ordinary solutions for clients that have included American Eagle Outfitters, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, The Gap, Mead, Penguin Books, French Paper, Marshall Field's, Target Stores, among others.
Laurie's work has received awards and honors from nearly every major design publication, competition, and exhibition; including Communication Arts, I.D., Print, Graphis, Novum Gebrauchs-Grafik; AIGA, The Type Directors Club, Art Directors Club of New York, The One Show; the Triennial Exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, and more. DeMartino was featured in the book Women of Design, among a select group of influential designers from around the world. Laurie has also served as adjunct faculty at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
