Stephanie Riggs has been recognized by the BBC and Al Jazeera as a virtual reality pioneer. With a background in both theatrical narrative and computer science, she began creating interactive immersive entertainment over 15 years ago and has worked with Intel, Disney Creative Entertainment, Walt Disney Imagineering, Walt Disney Productions, HBO, Atlas Media, and Carmike Cinemas. As a traditional storyteller, Stephanie directed the New York Times Critics Pick film “The Standbys,” and produced the award-winning and Netflix top-rated thriller "Banshee Chapter" with Zachary Quinto (Star Trek). She went on to release the first feature film on the Oculus Rift, was the first person invited to film a US President in 360 by President Obama in 2015, set the world record for simultaneous VR experience, and her VR documentary, “Kanju” premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival. Stephanie is committed to increasing diversity and access to VR education as a mentor for Facebook/Oculus' "VR For Good" and the AR/VR Academy. Through her company, Sunchaser Entertainment, Stephanie takes experiences beyond 360 and into the realm of immersive, groundbreaking entertainment.
