2019 One Show Design Jury
While her first love may have been for modern dance, Joanne Lefebvre pursued her studies in art, marketing and management. However, it was when she turned to the world of design that she made her most important encounter: that of Louis Gagnon, her future business and life partner. Together, they founded Paprika in 1991. Today, it is the dual nature of their relationship that allows us to understand Paprika’s success: over 800 awards, a book published by Pyramid showcasing their work, and a 2010 exhibition in Paris are just a few of the agency’s accolades.
Design quality is Paprika’s raison d’être. Its unique vision intertwines management and creativity under the leadership of its president and co-founder. As such, the boutique agency owes its success to a portfolio of electrifying work, which focuses on fundamentals and simplicity to create an aesthetic language all its own.
Joanne plays a key role in the completion of a variety of ambitious projects. Her unique ability to carefully balance strategic and creative management ensures her talented team of designers are always challenged, inspired and encouraged to push the boundaries of their creativity. Experimenting with new tools and platforms⎯space, set design, animation⎯Paprika develops innovative concepts and uses the range of its ever-growing expertise to the fullest. From various publications to museum exhibition catalogues to stamp designs, to branding and rebranding campaigns for large businesses, hotels, and retailers, Joanne continues to bring her vision, sensitivity and sense of style to the table.
