Elena Hale is a strategic marketing and storytelling leader with over 20 years of experience building global brands and award-winning creative campaigns. She is Managing Director, Chief Marketing Officer at Emerson Collective, a social change organization that uses a broad range of tools to create the greatest good for the greatest number of people. Established and led by Laurene Powell Jobs, Emerson Collective uses philanthropy, impact investing, advocacy and community activation in order to remove barriers to justice for individuals, families and communities across the country.

Prior to joining Emerson Collective, Elena served as Founder and Managing Director of MAL\FOR GOOD, a purpose-based creative agency dedicated to innovative brand-building and social movements. Through MAL\FOR GOOD, she developed mission-based strategies, assembled a highly-skilled team and created award-winning campaigns, including Conservation International's Nature is Speaking that earned a Gold Lion at Cannes International Festival of Creativity.

Previously, Elena was the Chief Strategy Officer and founding member of TBWA\Media Arts Lab, leading strategy on Apple for 15 years—including the launches of iPod, iTunes, iPhone, iPad, App Store and other amazing Apple products and services since 2000, most notably, the iconic iPod Silhouettes campaign and Mac vs. PC which was Adweek's Campaign of the Decade. She led the strategy behind creative work that has won 9 Cannes Lions, including a Grand Prix, and multiple Effies which award strategic effectiveness, including a Grand Effie for Mac vs. PC. At MAL, Elena also co-authored the Media Arts discipline and vision with Lee Clow which is a method for shaping modern brand behavior.

Elena grew up in Guatemala and today lives in California with her husband Chuck, and their two children.
