Following his love of Dutch design Graham moved to Amsterdam in 2007, exchanging his beloved Vespa in London for a classic Dutch ‘oma fiets’ (‘grandmother’ bike).

After joining VBAT 12 years ago, Graham assumed creative direction duties for the Amsterdam based branding and design agency in June 2014, becoming a board member in July 2018.

A specialist in identity development, Graham also has extensive experience in packaging, retail, digital, typographic and broadcast design.

Graham’s work has been recognised, amongst others by DBA Design Effectiveness, Design Week, Brand Impact, Communication Arts, Transform Europe, Graphis Posters, Eurobest and Clio Awards. Recently his work was also shortlisted at Cannes Design Lions.

His work with VBAT | Superunion has been featured by many industry publications including The Drum, Communication Arts and Under Consideration. Graham was recently a speaker at the Pentawards Conference in New York City, where he talked about ‘How heritage is the game-changer for contemporary packaging design’. He has also conducted various workshops and breakout sessions at the D&AD New Blood Academy, What Design Can Do, and AdNight and has previously been a member of international design awards juries for D&AD, WPPed Cream and ADCN.

As Creative Director of VBAT he has developed a number of initiatives to enhance and inspire the agencies creative culture, resulting in a tangible increased quality of creative product and more effective work.

During his career Graham has worked with a number of leading international agencies including Fitch, Lippincott Mercer, Landor and 20|20 with clients such as The Heineken Company, PostNL, NPO, The Rolling Stones, Oasis, Nokia, Channel 4, Bang & Olufsen, Greenpeace, Lucky Strike and YO! Sushi.

Creatively he is always looking for new and exciting ways of engaging people with brands.
