Meera Sharath Chandra is National Creative Director of Mudra Marketing Services, covering Tribal DDB India (digital), Rapp Collins India (direct response), Kidstuff (events and promotions), Brand Therapist (health and lifestyle) and Primesite (out-of-home and retail). Prior to this she was Vice President Creative at Contract Advertising (India) Private Limited, Mumbai (a JWT Group company) and headed Team HSBC, Contract Health, iContract and DesignSutra among other clients in her portfolio that include Walt Disney, Cadburys, Godrej and Platinum Guild International. She began her stint in Contract as Vice President and General Manager of Contract, Chennai. Meera has spent 18 years in the advertising industry with her last held post being Vice President and Senior Creative Director of J Walter Thompson in India. Meera also has over three years of international new media experience as Executive Director and President of Avigna Technologies, an Intel portfolio company, based mostly in Washington DC, New York and in HongKong. Meera has a Degree in Literature and a Diploma in Journalism, both of which were ideal educational qualifications for the career she chose – as a copywriter in an advertising agency. Beginning with MAA Bozell in Bangalore, Meera then spent a few years with Everest Saatchi & Saatchi in Bangalore and Mumbai and then went on to spend over a decade at J Walter Thompson across Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and Detroit. Winner of several awards and accolades across the years, Meera is especially proud of her collection of prestigious London International Advertising Awards and two years ago her web kiosk for Lakme was a finalist at Cannes. Several of her portfolio brands have been adjudged the "Best Brand of the Year” during her advertising years, the Josh campaign idea for Ford Ikon and her work on Hindustan Lever skin and hair brands being among them. Lasr year, under her leadership Tribal DDB India swept all leading national awards and won several metals at the Asia Pacific Ad Fest, the Webbys, New York Festival and was a finalist at Cannes.
