This project came together quite last minute and all shot in one day. The director, Amber Grace Johnson and I wanted to explore the element of water and the feeling it creates. We chose to shoot on 16mm to really push a real organic feeling to it and juxtapose the location which was intentionally an industrial setting. We referenced some films from east Asia for color and production design as well as fashion photos from Herb Ritts because ultimately it's a spot for a jeans company utilizing minimal and sustainable water practices in their production line. Another unique aspect of this was a sense of dreaminess we created by creating a special filter used in camera which gave a sort of surreal glow to certain moments.
