The intent of the project was to challenge and push the limits of typography. The alphabet is a personal exploration of my expressive handwriting and general legibility restrictions. I asked myself how far I can push the letterforms, how abstract they may become to still manage to be legible? Do they even have to be legible? What are the boundaries of typography? To answer these questions I restrained myself to use as few lines and as simple components as possible, maintaining a limited yet vibrant color palette. I translated my quick 5 minute handmade sketches to the digital forms. The alphabet took part in 36 Days of Type open-call online project.
I designed all of the letterforms and developed the concept.
