Description

Forgotten Lands is an annual publication that was started in 2018 in response to hurricanes Irma and María, which ravaged the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico the year prior. The goal of the publication is to provide a platform for the many forgotten stories of the Caribbean through art, culture and dialogue, and to raise money to support the rebuilding of Caribbean nations after catastrophe. Volume 3 focused on the vulnerability that all these countries share when it comes to culture, sustainability, self-determination, socioeconomics, activism and history. The founder, Cory Torres Bishop, reached out to me to design the third installment of the project. The design direction uses geometric line-work throughout each story — inspired by maps, trajectory and interconnection.
