To kick off the release of the film, Hereditary, Palmstar approached Vice Visual Studio to re-brand their logo and studio production card. The goal was to create what felt like a living oil-painting that would seamlessly transition into the graphic logo.

Role in Project
I was the lead animator on this project and worked closely with the Art Directors to bring the initial style frames to life. Using hand-drawn frame by frame animation, I helped conceptualize all the moving parts that combined to form the final piece.

One of the hardest challenges was simulating the texture of moving water with oil paint. In order to simulate the water, I used CGI to emulate cloth rippling, which I then used as a base for the animation. I led a team of two other animators to meticulously hand paint each frame., and the end result was a piece that felt and looked like an oil painting come to life.
