I created the Porphyry typeface as a personal project. Porphyry is a stone that was considered regal in antiquity and was prized for its hardness. The typeface takes those qualities, referencing classic Roman type. It takes a chiseled, fine form with angular stress and is elevated by ligatures throughout. The typeface has a full set of uppercase and lowercase letters, accented characters, arrows, and a variety of uppercase ligatures.
