Troy Charbonnet is a Black/Mexican-American filmmaker based in Southern California. He attended Chapman University and graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film Production.

His body of work spans across short films, mini-documentaries, commercials, and music videos–working with artists such as Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, Ariana Grande, Ms. Lauryn Hill, P!nk, Coldplay, and selected brands such as Apple, Spotify, Nike, Adidas, and Mercedes-Benz. In 2021, he received a Video Music Award for Best Editing at the MTV VMAs and has garnered recognition globally from film festivals, Vimeo, and Booooooom TV.

Troy currently lives in Los Angeles where he is working as a freelance editor. He is also in the midst of directing narrative short films revolving around themes of identity and belonging, as his mixed cultural background has helped foster an interest in the visual portrayal of intersectionality.
