Kajal is an emotional giant telling stories from her 5’2 view. An award winning director, photographer, writer, and overall creative, she is acclaimed for her ability to entice intimate emotion through a vibrant and unapologetic visual style.

As a filmmaker, Kajal looks to her Brooklyn roots and first generation values to guide her disciplines. Her Dada (grandfather) was her greatest supporter and inspiration as she regards their time spent together watching and dissecting Hindi films as some of her biggest teaching moments. She coins him for championing her to use her voice in a honest, brave, and powerful yet kind and thoughtful way.

In 2020, Kajal wrote, created, and directed a piece entitled, “Protecting Women of Color” starring Megan Thee Stallion which was picked up and published by The New York Times. She went on to win multiple awards for this work.

Kajal believes creating is an attempt to release the ever-full vessel of emotions that we carry with us everyday and if we are lucky enough, what we make may just fill someone else along the way.

Her work includes collaborations with clients such as Nike, Hennessy, Burger King, Bose, L’Oreal, Megan Thee Stallion, Nas, Billie Eilish, Naomi Osaka, Issa Rae amongst others winning her a Gold and Silver Clio, Webby awards, a D&AD pencil, an AICP Cause win along with other recognitions.

Kajal is currently working on making her and her Dada’s greatest dream come true - to see her name on the big screen.
