After beginning her career as a freelance stylist, Martinique-native, Giannie Couji, has been a contributing fashion editor for I-D Magazine from 1996 to 2010, and was Fashion Director at Above Magazine from 2006 to 2008. Other magazines such as Italian Marie Claire, L’Officiel, Elle, New York Times, Perfect, International Herald Tribune and Black Book have also showcased her talent over the years. Giannie is currently the editor in chief and creative director of Ubikwist magazine.

Giannie has had the pleasure of collaborating with a wide range of photographers including Jean-Paul Goude, Thierry Le Goués, Bettina Rheims, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Ellen Von Unwerth, Thomas Nutzl, James Dimmock, Ben Hassett, Sophie Delaporte, Fabio Chizzola, Gustavo Ten-Hoever, Emma Summerton, Harri Peccinotti, Tyrone Lebon, Thierry Van Biesen, Patrick Ibanez, Christophe Kutner, Warwick Saint and Anton Corbijn.

She has styled celebrities such as Alicia Keys, Adepero Oduye, Indya Moore, Adeline, Ibeyi, Mati Diop, Melvin Van Peebles, Young Paris, Damaris Lewis, Euzhan Palcy, Sheryl Crow, Reese Witherspoon, Uma Thurman, Drena De Niro, Lou Doillon, Patricia Arquette, Blanca Li, Asia Argento, Emmanuelle Seigner, Petra Nemcova, Béatrice Dalle, Dido, Daphne Guinness, and All Saints. Giannie has contributed to a number of advertising campaigns (for both print and television distribution) including, Chanel, Puma, Adidas, Replay, Antik Batik, WonderBra, Passionata, Falke, Nivea, John Frieda, Dove, Cartier, Chopard, Christophe Sauvat, Milo, Avon, Izzat Baba, and Marc Jacobs.

Furthermore, she has worked on music video projects with various musicians such as D-Influence, The Rolling Stones, Bjork, Amber, Femi Kuti, Etienne Daho, Jacques Dutronc and Alain Bashung.
