Young Guns 5 WINNERS

2006: The move to make Young Guns an international competition was a a smart one; Young Guns 5 saw nearly a quarter of its submissions come from outside of the United States. Beyond the Moleskine-produced annual and the November 9, 2006 ceremony and exhibition, this year introduced a speaker series that explored the work, history, hurdles, goals and aspirations of Young Guns winners.


Frank Anselmo

Frank Anselmo's creative work has been recognized by every major global award show. With creative luminaries such as Gerry Graf, Eric Silver, David Lubars, Kara Goodrich and Greg Hahn, Frank has worked on high-profile accounts like Guinness, FedEx, Ebay, HBO, etc. Anselmo was credited for winning BBDO's first ever One Show Gold Pencil for an unconventional media concept. Other career highlights include being honored as an Art Directors Club Young GUn and working on the final John Lennon music video.

Frank is also an alumnus-turned-instructor at The School of Visual Arts, where he founded the Unconventional Advertising program. Since the class's year of inception in 2006, SVA has consistently been the single most awarded advertising school in the world. For his teaching efforts, Anselmo was honored by Graphis with the first Platinum Instructor Award.

Frank's greatest inspiration is family and living in New York City. Frank hates people who talk about themselves, so he hired someone to write this.
