Young Guns is a portfolio competition awarding creative professionals 30 years and under, including designers, illustrators, entrepreneurs, and more!
2009: Beginning this year, Young Guns became an annual competition. Its international growth continued to shine, with nearly half of all entries coming from outside of the United States. For the first time ever, the top scoring Young Guns 7 winners were awarded grants, with project funding being awarded to visual artist Siggi Eggertsson, director duo Fx&Mat and designer Mario Hugo. The Young Guns 7 ceremony and party took place on October 21, 2009.

Stewart Smith
Head of Consumer Augmented Reality Unity Brooklyn, NY
Stewart invents fun future things in collaboration with fantastic colleagues. He recently rejoined Unity as their Head of Consumer Augmented Reality. Stewart is also the creator of Q.js (a drag-and-drop quantum circuit composer) and Handy.js (a hand pose capture and recognition toolkit for WebXR).
Prior to Unity, Stewart has worked with renowned hybrid studios like Google’s Data Arts Team, Google Creative Lab, Unity Labs, and founded Moar—a technology and strategy consultancy. Together with amazing colleagues, he’s won industry awards like the Cannes Gold Lion, created a VR music video for LCD Soundsystem, and partnered with Ernő Rubik to create the “Beyond Rubik’s Cube” traveling exhibition. What really makes Stewart happy is partnering with smart friends to take on the impossible—or ridiculous.
Stewart received his Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Yale University. His artwork has been exhibited at various museums around the world, he’s taught graduate courses that mix code with graphic design, served on esteemed industry panels, and is always excited about the future.
