This documentary, directed by Paul Hairston, sheds light on a controversial organization that was born in a backyard in his hometown of Harrisonburg, Virginia. There, an ex-felon has started a fight club in his own backyard with the aim of settling scores amongst the local community through sanctioned fight matches, instead of actual unbridled violence using weapons. It's grown to become something that does not promote violence, but rather acknowledges that inherent violence exists, but if it can be regulated safely, it has been proven to reduce fatalities and actually build bonding experiences among the community he is from and hopes to improve. The project was a labor of love, completely self funded by the director.
