Reuben Selby's second collection was very much inspired by his heritage and where he is now. A young Filipino designer living in London, Reuben grew up in the Philippines and at 10 years old he saw his first big building, a Travelodge. Although it wasn't an architectural masterpiece, it was his first memory of the impact of scale of a city as London. Inspired by the importance of the Travelodge and his commitment to the environment as a designer, the set was designed as a simplified version of the same building made out of cardboard. The building was simplified to reflect the idea of lack of some details in our memories. The building was surrounded by 4 cardboard clad speakers that represented a sound clash event that inspired the clash in culture of his collection.
