Description
The Moth is a cultural institution dedicated to promoting the art of unscripted storytelling through radio, podcast, and live show performances. Through themes of community, spontaneity, and connection, the identity highlights the relationship between The Moth’s performers and audiences.
StorySLAM 2021 is a flagship open-mic competition hosted by The Moth. This secondary identity centers performance and participation and encourages StorySLAM attendees to create and contribute illustrated avatars that drive the identity, further emphasizing the importance between The Moth and its community members.
In a fluttering performance on stage, these dynamic avatars come to life alongside unravelling stories and illustrate the organization’s founding metaphor of moths and light to people and stories.
This project incorporates Processing, projection mapping, print, web, motion, and spatial design.
