Description

The objective of this campaign was to use new forms of technology to create an easier and more welcoming place for people to work on communicating through sign. Globally, hearing parents struggle to communicate with their deaf children, and for many of these parents, learning a new language is not something that can fit into their hectic schedules. Based off this insight, we decided to partner with Duolingo and the World Federation of the Deaf and use new technology to create a service that can help parents practice communication in sign as they go through their day to day lives.

The end result of this thinking became "signlingo", an integrated feature into the Duolingo app, complete with an in-app AR Scanner, so that parents can learn the sign for any object they see, and out-of-app extensions on Google Chrome and various streaming services, so they can continue their practice even when not using the app. In today's world where parents are always on the go, "signlingo" will allow them to learn sign language anytime, anywhere.
