Description

Gen Z is growing up in a time of widespread political and religious interference on their rights. These attacks focus mainly on the health and rights of women and queer identities, and Gen Z is at risk falling into a dark age of information on sexual education. Those leading the calls for bans and restrictions know that it all starts with education, and thus are specifically targeting the public’s access to it through state and local policy on educational institutions and resources such as public schools, and local clinics like Planned Parenthood. With 38% of US states teaching abstinence only, which has proven to be directly correlated to higher rates of teen pregnancy, and state wide bans claiming to be in the interest of “protecting children, and families.” How can we reach Gen Z where they currently are and bring that critical information to their fingertips without shame, stigma, or local politics? Spotify Audiobooks. Introducing Spotify IYKYK (If You Know, You Know) a platform of listenable content exclusively on Spotify, in collaboration with Planned Parenthood, where anyone anywhere can access inclusive audible content on all things sex and health. Complete with visuals, videos, and a chat space to unpack it all, Spotify IYKYK ensures that the most valuable sexual education is safely and inclusively provided to those who need it most. In addition, IYKYK will collaborate with some of the biggest artists on Spotify to offer re-releases of their top tracks updated to feature catchy IYKYK call-outs and features of the platform. Featured artists will be selected for their alignment with relevant issues like body positivity, sex positivity, gender identity, etc. to bring awareness to this incredible resource to young folks everywhere.
