The Young Ones competition is one of the most acclaimed advertising, interactive and design student competitions. It has a tradition of excellence dating back to 1986.

Josy started BBDO India in Mumbai from the backseat of his car in 2008.

In 2016, he was named Creative Agency Head of The Year by the IAA (Indian Advertising Association). Campaign Magazine awarded him 'Creative Person of the Year for India and South Asia' in 2013, 2015 and 2016.

He is ranked among the most influential people in Indian advertising – according to The Economic Times.

In 2002. Josy won India’s first One Show Pencil. Very recently he won the One Show Gold for Visa ‘Saree’.

Josy and his team won the inaugural Glass Lion Grand Prix at Cannes in 2015 for their internationally acclaimed campaign Whisper ‘Touch The Pickle’. They also won the Cannes Lion Gold in 2015 and 2016 and 2017 for Ariel ‘Share The Load’. Ariel #ShareTheLoad is ranked as the world’s most effective campaign by WARC 100 two years in a row - 2017 and 2018.

Josy and his partner Ajai Jhala pioneered the idea of brand movements with the belief that India needs more ‘acts not ads’.

BBDO India’s influential actions include Gillette ‘Women Against Lazy Stubble’, Mirinda ‘Release The Pressure’, Visa ‘Kindness Is Cashless’, eBay ‘Things Don’t Judge’ and SC Johnson’s ‘Stand By Tough Moms’. These campaigns have been recognised globally, and in India.

Josy Paul was born during an earthquake and has a permanent tremor.

He lives by the mantra, “Think like the navy, deliver like the pirates.”
