Kate Baynham is an Associate Creative Director at GS&P, having worked here 6 years on high-caliber brands like Frito-Lay, Pepsi, Adobe, Xfinity, Nintendo, and the Ad Council.

During her career, she has been named a 30 Under 30 by the Business Insider, one of the Next Creative Leaders by the One Club and 3% Movement and most recently a Rising Star of Madison Avenue with her partner, Hanna Wittmark, by Business Insider again. She’s also had work awarded by festivals such as the Cannes Lions, the D&AD Awards, the Effie’s and the One Show.

Among the work Baynham has done at GS&P, the ones that shine brightest in her heart are ones that allow her to either prove she’s the funniest in the room or make a real difference in the world outside of marketing.

For Adobe, Baynham has worked on the “Do You Know What Your Marketing Is Doing” campaign for several years, creating spots showing everything from illicit social clout dealings in “Mean Streets” to a failure to launch by way of data in “The Launch.” She particularly relishes in the chance to flash a client’s bad behavior right in their face all for the sake of comedy.

For the Ad Council, she along with her creative partner, Hanna Wittmark, created the first official emoji tied to a social cause to give kids a tool to combat cyber bullying. The campaign not only brought together all of Silicon Valley in the name of one campaign, it also garnered the attention of national news outlets like Wired, Tech Crunch, Washington Post, NPR and Buzzfeed. And for the first time, kids were able to feel like they had the power to do something about the cruelty they witness every day.

Finally, her two passions for comedy and altruism could come together in the form of a series of PSA’s for media think tank , Common Sense Media, and their #DeviceFreeDinner initiative. In perhaps her most difficult writing challenge to date, she had to write a series of scripts that not only made Jeff Goodby laugh, but also made Will Ferrell laugh. And one of those men has been widely regarded as one of the funniest actors of all time. The other is Jeff Goodby. The PSA’s were praised in publications like Esquire Magazine as well as featured on popular morning talk show, The Today Show and recently won Cannes Lions for script-writing in the category of Film Craft.

While her career may seem short, she thinks it’s a good indicator of the years to come.
