As an advertising writer and creative director, Lou has an impressive record of building brands and winning most every major industry creative award in the process.

At ad agencies such as Ogilvy, McCann-Erickson, TBWA\Chiat\Day, and Doner, at digital agencies such as Perficient, and at top-tier health and wellness agencies including Fcb Health, Havas Health, and Ogilvy CommonHealth, Lou’s work is characterized not only by its creativity, but also by its intrusiveness. It breaks through the market noise that bombards people every day. It incites people to act.

His work has been responsible for increased awareness and ultimately, increased profits. A few cases in point: American Express Gold Card, AT&T, Audi, Chiquita Bananas, L’Oréal, Sony, and Waterman Pens.

Lou is the recipient of Gold Clios, Cannes Gold Lions, London International, One Show and New York Art Directors awards. His work has been included in the Communication Arts Advertising Annual, The One Show Annual and the MPA Kelly Awards “Best Campaigns of the Year”.

Lou is currently a Professor of Practice in the Department of Advertising + Public Relations at Michigan State University’s College of Communication Arts & Sciences. He holds a BA, magna cum laude, from St. Michael’s College, attended graduate school at Columbia University, and did additional studies at Yale University, the University of Paris/Sorbonne Nouvelle, and School of Visual Arts in New York City.
