The Future of Cannabis Advertising

Tuesday April 9th, 2019

The global legal marijuana market is rapidly growing, projected to reach up to $130 Billion by the end of 2029, creating a massive opportunity for entrepreneurs to profit in this rapidly evolving industry. But for advertising agencies, cannabis brands, and marijuana dispensaries, marketing brings its own set of problems. FTC regulations, corporate compliance, and decades old biases restrict what cannabis brands can say and where they can say it.

In an industry where no marketers have gone before, hear from David Dancer, MedMen CMO; Tommy Means, Founder & CCO of Mekanism; and Lexi Whelan, Associate Brand Strategy Director at Mekanism as they discuss The New Normal, a short film directed by Spike Jonze and co-written by Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams. They will discuss the hurdles they faced while creating the campaign, how they used the industry’s restrictions to their advantage, and where they see cannabis advertising headed in the future.
