Are you ready to "get stranded" with a paper artist? Join Denver Milk Market's Stranded Pilgrim's small talk-style series with some of Denver’s most buzzed-about leaders. They’re here to educate and answer your questions. Mix, mingle and join the conversation!

Walking through the market you'll discover an art display of fashion pieces. Upon closer review, you'll notice these pieces are actually made from PAPER! Hear from two talented and accomplished Paper Fashion Show award-winners, Katie O'Neil and Michelle Lieser-Booren, and Olivia Gonzales, the Paper Fashion Show creative director, as they speak about their inspiration and process for creating these incredible pieces of art.

Katie O’Neil has created several gowns for the Paper Fashion Show—most while she was still in high school. In 2016, she won second place. Katie draws inspiration from nature, architecture, and art she’s encountered in her travels in Colorado and around the world. Lux Nova, the dress now on display at Denver Milk Market, was inspired by the stained glass windows at La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.

Michelle Lieser-Booren is intrigued by the “tensions between the definitions of art and fashion, and where those definitions overlap.” She has participated in the Paper Fashion Show for many years, and each of her creations highlights the art-fashion tension with dramatic originality. Her “Guardian,” now on display at Denver Milk Market, was inspired by the Winged Victory of Samothrace. It won second place at PFS in 2017.

In addition to being the emcee of the 2017 show, Olivia Gonzales has created the stage design for 2017, 2018 and the 2019 The Paper Fashion Show. She will be discussing her vision and inspiration for the stage design and the 2019 Paper Fashion Show promotional video.

This is a FREE event, please RSVP to help us plan!

Thank you to our sponsors, Tewell Warren Printing, Ellen Bruss Design and Mohawk.
