Background: Based in New York, (RED) rallies the world’s most iconic companies including Apple,
Bank of America, Starbucks, Salesforce, Coca-Cola, Belvedere and many others to join the AIDS
fight and help deliver an AIDS FREE GENERATION by 2020. Over the past10 years, thanks to
groundbreaking (RED) events, partnerships, best-in-class products and once-in-a-lifetime
experiences, over $465 million has been generated for the AIDS fight affecting over 70 million lives.
Summary: The Senior Vice President of Business Development is responsible for driving revenue
and securing strategic partnerships with maximum value and impact on the overall (RED) goal of
creating heat and awareness around the AIDS fight while generating sustainable contributions for the
Global Fund. Reporting to the COO, this role will identify and develop new categories, territories and
ultimately partnership opportunities, utilizing creativity and negotiation skills to close significant new
deals, lead the support team to implementation and coordinate partner programs and promotions
around (RED) tentpole moments. Additionally, this position will be responsible for securing
operational grants for (RED) from foundations, high net worth individuals and other potential funding
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop a strategy to maximize future partners
o Develop strategic roadmap of industries, categories, products, brands that align with (RED)’s
overall goal of creating more ways to BE (RED)
o Cultivate and develop new partner relationships, qualify prospects, and determine
partnership viability
o Identify, target and outline (RED)’s value proposition to prospective partners
• Develop an efficient yet strategic business development process including objectives, strategies
and key milestones and execute that strategy
o Close a minimum of five (5) new high profile and high impact deals across industries,
categories and geographic markets per year
o Ensure focus on KPIs that all constituents are aligned on prior to deals closing to ensure all
partnership expectations are carefully managed.
• Develop potential promotional extensions to further the brand marketing objectives of our
partners and (RED), especially how they relate to (RED)’s tent pole moments of
• Create business development pipeline and reporting systems leveraging Salesforce and other
tools to demonstrate ongoing progress in the business development process
• Develop detailed account plans identifying key contacts at the partner, the strategy to maximize
revenue, and how to leverage our existing relationships
• Maximize (RED) operational funding opportunities with foundations, high net worth individuals
and partners
• Meet target funding goals each year
• Work closely with the CDO of The ONE Campaign to align on joint fundraising opportunities
including donor events, strategic outreach to high net worth individuals and other opportunistic
• Work closely with the CMO on the creation of all marketing ideas and collateral required to
support the business development pipeline, pitches and process from strategic to tactical
including creative ideas, presentations,deal-sheets, casestudiesand promotional and
sponsorship opportunities
• Work with partner team to develop impactful case studies that can be leveraged for future
pitching needs
• Work cross‐functionally with a variety of different departments to ensure (RED) goals are met

Qualifications/ Experience:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent. MBA preferred
• A persona that is comfortable and confident sitting toe-to-toe with CEOs of Fortune 500
companies as well as a level of approachability and entrepreneurship that can also be
comfortable with a start-up CEO
• 5+ years of mid to senior level business and partnership development experience. Experience in
media, the agency landscape or content development a plus
• A proven track record of success with experience in prospecting and negotiating deals worth
$3M or more
• A track record of creating unique concepts, campaigns or promotional extensions which can be
attributed to you
• International and sponsorship sales experience preferred; ad sales mentality
• Ability to react quickly and provide strategic solutions in a fast paced environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially speaking public
• Solid problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work well in a team based, matrixed environment
• Technologically savvy
• Experience leveraging Salesforce CRM tools for deals and post‐deal fulfillment
• Able to demonstrate strong knowledge of all office products including Keynote, PowerPoint,
Word and Excel
