ABOUT HAATBP

The highly controversial and emotional discussion between the two creatives [Jeff Goodby and Jimmy Smith] sparked a wave of action as a response to the very serious question regarding the lack of diversity in the creative field.

HAATBP has come a long way from the 2011 organic question posed by advertising greats Jeff Goodby and Jimmy Smith. The highly controversial and emotional discussion between the two creatives sparked a wave of action as a response to the very serious question regarding the lack of diversity in the creative field. Quickly The One Club seized the opportunity to move beyond words and created action. In 2012, The One Club developed a diversity-focused event titled “Where Are All The Black People? A Creative Career Fair.”

A few short years later, the “W” from Where Are All The Black People was removed changing the question to an answer. Now in its seventh year, HAATBP is a highly regarded event giving participants numerous opportunities to interact with top creative professionals for networking, interviews, portfolio reviews and mentoring.

The One Club's Annual Here Are All The Black People is a one-day event that provides a space for multicultural students, recent graduates, and creative professionals to enrich their careers through training and exploring new opportunities.

This year, in addition to programming for young creatives, HAATBP 2018 will offer a separate track with topics designed for mid-level creatives. This new format provides exposure for entry-level talent and provides professional development opportunities for mid-level creative professionals.

This is not your average career fair! HAATBP gives attendees interested in exploring and developing their careers in advertising and design access to:

  • Educational and Diverse sessions lead by top industry professionals
  • Mentoring opportunities
  • Student / Participant Portfolio Reviews
  • Recruiting booths
  • Networking
  • Live Talent Pitch Competition
