A TracFone Mom observes the ridiculous tactics other moms use to coddle and spy on their kids these days.
Objective
TracFone, America's #1 pre-paid wireless provider, gave us a big challenge: Convince moms that their 10 year olds should have their own smartphone. Today’s young moms are notoriously over-protective, so we knew they’d be attracted to the built-in parental controls and filters that came with TracFone’s kid-centric Android. But to really relate to them, we wanted to dig deeper into their inner struggle as modern moms. We found that they would go to extreme lengths to keep their kids safe, but deep down, were actually self-conscious about being seen as obsessive, helicopter parents. With a heavy dose of self-awareness, we poked fun at the tactics moms use to keep track of their kids, and positioned TracFone as the simple solution that lets moms keep their kids safe without going off the deep end.
