Description

To promote Comcast's "talking guide" for people with visual disabilities we asked Emily, a 7-year-old blind girl, what she sees in her mind when she watches The Wizard of Oz. We then built her version, using designers, makeup artists, and puppeteers.

Objective

Xfinity wanted a big idea to promote their "talking guide," a new tech initiative spurred by their Accessibility Lab. The talking guide allows the visually impaired to access the TV as easily as anyone else by using voice command to control the TV while having the guide talk back to the user.

Technical Challenge

There were plenty of challenges along the way, most coming from how to bring Emily's vision of the Wizard of Oz to life. We partnered with a design studio to create characters that exactly resembled her vision and worked closely with puppeteers to give them life.
