Smartly.io is one of the largest global Facebook Marketing Partners. The company automates and optimizes Facebook campaigns for media agencies and advertisers such as JustFab and eBay.

At Cannes Lions, it's tough to find the time to attend all the talks you'd like to. Yet everyone at the festival wants to sound like they're in on what's buzzing in the industry.

Mr.Chatly is a Facebook Messenger chatbot that automated small talk at Cannes Lions 2017. It attended the keynotes and panels and sent its users the top five quotes from each day of the festival.

Objective

Reach and engage agency professionals to build brand recognition for Smartly.io at Cannes Lions.

Technical Challenge

Building and managing a chatbot fully in-house and configuring advertising campaigns on Facebook to direct audience to chat to the bot in Messenger.
